my favorite subject of discussion is money. after a couple convos, a few articles, and reflection on my own personal quest for..i was thinking of this song for a few days. without going into technicals, everyone should approach money the way marvin approached music.
a studio drummer for motown who, just happened to know how to sing was caught singing (a gospel tune i think). from there he prepped to become a singer, and finally put out records of covers and few originals. being the eclectic he was, he approached barry gordy with the idea for "whats goin on". barry hated it, but agreed to let marvin do his thing, and of course we know marvin for the musical genius that he is.
the soundtrack for 'trouble man' was brought to marvin after a few other producers (mayfield, hayes, hutch, etc) had turned down the project for whatever reasons. marvin wanted to have a jazz feel for the product which was definitely different from the funk based ways of the early 70's..out came the title track and another hit.
in relation to money, you have to always be around. observe what is going on around you. stay on your craft, and practice other venues too. when you get the chance to make a move, do it. dont reinvent the wheel. when you find a way to tweak something, run with it. continue to do what you want. above all, make sure it is quality.
the three sure things will take care of themselves..you just have to maneuver around and within them.

"The recipe for my success is 1 part pain and suffering, 2 parts brains and hustlin, sprinkle it over Hi-teks production"-Talib Revolutions Per Minute..4-6-10 SeeYouInMyNightmares
It appears as though Kanye is not done promoting 808s & Heartbreak, which is good. Drake recently told MTV that he was in Hawaii recording for his album and Kanye's new disc. He cosigned it as being the best hiphop album in the last 10 years. I like Kanye and all but gottt damn...I'll wait to hear some tracks first...
After watching:
...I think Nabil Elderkin (who also directed "Welcome To Heartbreak (which everyone should get a chance to see LIVE) & Paranoid) did a good job at conveying the personal subject matter of the song which touches on Kanye's loss of his mother & his past relationship w/ his former fiance.
I thought this was especially dope since my dude did this when he was like 17 or 18...produced the songs...and did the cover art. Sick. Check out his blog.
