After looking around for the date of the WALE show at the Norva in Norfolk (april 7th) I came across the may 12th(I think) date when Snoop Dogg will be there. Ok. This scratches two people of the list I wanted to see live. In anticipation for the april 7th show I remember the college dropout tour when they swung past the Norva in 2003....The best time to see people perform is before they blow up forreal forreal...
I also came across this mixtape. DJ Singh Slim Presents The GO-GO Experience. I saw this video of my dog DG Yola performing with a live band a WHILE ago...shocked.
South music and GOGO seem like they go hand in hand. It's evident on this mixtape.
As much as people HATE on gogo, as an avid MUSIC listener passing good music along you can't say you can't vibe off this cd. I guess people hate to be in that upbeat mood. These tracks will do that...
If you're in ATL friday go checkout my mans MUMS FP show!!! Checkout"24, the Mixtape Sampler"...It's dope.

The last studio album from Port Arthur, Texas vets Pimp C and Bun B. Expect the country rap tunes that the dynamic duo is known for. Album features previous collaborators such as Raheem Devaughn, Ronald Isley, Ball & G and Too Short.
Bun B talks with Pitchfork about finishing the album without Pimp C.
Pitchfork: I interviewed you about a year ago, and you'd mentioned that you were going to do this UGK project. That was the first I'd heard of it. What's it been like getting the album together?
Bun B: As far as putting it together, I didn't have to do too much running around and chasing around. A lot of the music-- and all of Pimp C's vocals, naturally-- had been laid prior to his passing away. Some of the songs were fully recorded, like from top to bottom, mixed and mastered. Some of them were done only halfway, maybe a verse from him and a verse from me. Some of them were just the Pimp C structure, and we had to build the rest of the song around it.
Pitchfork: Did he leave behind a lot of unfinished work?
BB: I can't really speak to the number of it because-- I think this is key for me to mention-- I don't control the music. I don't have the Pimp C catalogue. The estate owns, controls, and chooses how to distribute everything that's Pimp C's, that has anything to do with Pimp C. So with this album, most of these songs were supposed to go to UGK anyway. It was just a matter of getting it all there for the UGK situation because there were songs for UGK, there were songs for a solo album, there were features he had done that were outstanding. It was just a matter of getting everybody the right music.
Pitchfork: Was it a concern to make the album fit together cohesively as an album? Every previous UGK album has been planned out with a kind of narrative arc.
BB: Yeah, absolutely. The theme for this album had already been set-- pretty much everything except the title. It was going to be a continuation of the themes and context we were trying to get across from the last double album. It was really about re-shaping the thinking of the way cats is doing what they're doing. Somewhere along the line, the G-Code got twisted, so it was really just about implementing the basic rules of the street back into the game and just being smart about how you move forward. A lot of that is basically what this album is about. For me, UGK has never been the kind to just make two good singles and that's it. We've always relied on the album to sell the group, as opposed to a single. It definitely was a concern for me that if I couldn't make an album... I didn't want to just put 12 songs out, you know what I mean? I had to make an album that was going to sit on the shelf next to the other albums, or I wasn't going to do it.

Since this is the BEST album I've heard in recent memory. No seriously, I couldn't ask for a better album to ride to this summer. With Zaytoven(produces for Yung Ralph, Young LA, Gucci Mane), Jim Jonsin (whatever you like, leather so soft)Mannie Fresh(You already know),and Mr. Lee (notable producer out texas, too many tracks to name - still tippin)behind the boards,Thugga is able to spit rewindable lyrics over beats that beg to be replayed. Dr. Dre was even supposed to produce on "Bitch I'm Back" Ft. Devin The Dude, but it wasn't able to make the album.
It's been 3 years since his deal with Interscope/Star Trak went sour so now he's back HUNGRY and independent, the only way to really get paid in the music industry. 360 deal what???
So I might as well bless ya'll with some of my favorite/rarest music from the vault. Listening to this NOT sober is a PLUS but not required, but you will like it better. All of these songs are screwed & chopped...

Rap longevity apparently isn’t on Kid Cudi’s 10-year plan. Per a blog entry written on kidcudi.com, the New York-based rapper (by way of Cleveland) will call it quits after his first album drops. A part of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music family, CuDi appeared on Yeezy’s 808s & Heartbreak, has been touring with the superstar and recently released a video for his smash hit, “Day ‘N’ Nite.” But Cudi’s current success has apparently taken as toll on him.
“After the release of my first LP this summer, I am not making any more solo albums,” he wrote in all caps. “I am falling back on being an artist. The drama that comes with it is more overwhelming than the sh*t I was dealing with when I was piss poor broke.”
“My friends get mad at me, say I’ve changed,” he continued. “One of the only homies I got in this game, Wale, is worried about me ’cause of sh*t he hears. Like, WTF? Who can say I’m being Hollywood? I’m not around anyone but Plain Pat and Emile. Who can say that sh*t? Motherfu*kas talkin’ sh*t here and there, spreadin’ rumors, makin’ jokes, tryin’ to judge me, and for what?”
Cudi, who recently signed with Universal Motown, plans to drop the mic to focus on his acting career. He’s already set to star in How to Make It in America, an HBO comedy pilot following three twentysomethings trying to make it in the big apple. Shooting for the series, which will be executive produced by Mark Wahlberg, starts in August. There’s no word on when Cudi’s solo debut, Man on the Moon: The Guardians, will hit stores. - Marvin Brandon
I like this live version. Anyone got the mixtape (The mixtape about notihng...or something like that)? If so, mr.kimani@gmail.com is my email...please send the link.
I like rhyme & reason, so here is my reason for posting this: We still high off of a historic campaign that has encouraged change. The change is on its way, and in the mean time we will be stuck in neutral. I believe that one of the missed points of the change that is to come is we have been stagnant. So the real change will come from our actions. I stress that people not reinvent the wheel, but to stand with something that is solid and MAKE YOUR MOVE.
Find who, what, when, where, and why it takes for you to get by. If you're getting good at it, bring someone along with you.
