2009 Artists to Watch

Talent is something rare. Not alot of people have it across different spectrums. It seems as though in this day and age many artists Rap and Sing, Sing then rap, Produce then rap & vice versa. Pure Artistry is blending with pop culture more frequently.

Silversun Pickups - New Music - More Music Videos

Can you believe I got bored with the INTERNET? Those that know me would say that isn't possible. They also wouldn't believe I got bored with rap at the same time!!! What was next???Television never fails right? When a person favorite genre of music fails along with the internet, what is a musically inclined person to do???

These are questions I asked myself as I flicked on directv. 106 & park had MIMS on the show. No bueno. Mtv sucker free was on. Word. Luckily, I caught the tail end of the previous show and caught this "awesome" video (really, there are no other words to explain the video). I haven't done my research on this band but everything happens in due time (I drop life lessons in freestyle write sessions!!!owww). Apparently, they have a new album coming out titled, "SWOON". Word. I also got to see the "BLAME IT"(You can tell I don't watch tv often?) & the new Rick Ross single which j.u.s.t.i.c.e. league absolutely killed the beat.

Whats the reason for this alternative indulgence? I can't blame hiphop. Maybe I'll blame Jadakiss or UGK. I got into a heated discussion over the new UGK album not catching my hear properly on the first listen at the store. FYE randomly selects 20seconds of an albums songs for you to preview the album. I should've known better cause that assumption was wrong. The new UGK album is hot...but it sound's as though something is lacking obviously. Although the creative process and development behind the album isn't something that I've looked into yet to see if PIMP C was a major part,(my cuz says he wasn't) It just didn't sound the same to me. Damn.

The intro and first 4 to 5 songs seem to flow VERY well. After that it loses my interest. Jadakiss??? Man wtf. Who signed off on that track featuring OJ the juice? A swizz beat? Maybe I'll have to give it a second listen. Maybe I'm turning into a hater. Maybe my tastes musically (as well a women) are becoming more fine tuned and it's taking more to...nevermind.

Hopefully the ROCK THE BELLS 2009 concert will NOT disappoint. The announcement of the lineup is happening tonight at the KEY CLUB. Since I missed last years show, I will not miss this one. Thus, I am prepared to roll DOLO. My only problem is where am I going to see it at???
